Minister Binyamin (Fuad) Ben- Eliezer - Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, State of Israel.

Minister Ben-Eliezer was born in Basra, Iraq in 1936 and immigrated to Israel by himself  as a 13-year-old child. In 1982, he was released from the IDF at the rank of Brigadier. He has been serving as a Member of the Knesset (Parliament) since 1984 consecutively and is the most senior Member of the Government and the most senior Member of the Knesset. This is the seventh term in which Ben-Eliezer is serving as a Minister and he has served in various positions in previous Governments. Ben-Eliezer is a member of the Labor Party and at one time served as Chairman of the Party. During all his years in public life, he has been active in working towards the achievement of peace with Israel's neighboring countries while safeguarding the State's security interests. In 1994, he was sent on a mission by Prime Minister Rabin to Tunisia and was the first Israeli Minister to meet with PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat for a conversation. Ben-Eliezer has been serving as Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor since March 2009.


Boaz Hirsch - Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, State of Israel.

Boaz Hirsch joined the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor in November 1995, after completing his articles in a commercial law firm in Tel Aviv. He graduated the Ministry's trade cadets course, and afterwards was assigned in the trade policy and agreements division, of the Foreign Trade Administration.
In August 1998, Boaz was appointed to the post of the Counselor for Commercial Affairs to the EU institutions and to Belgium and Luxembourg. He served in Brussels, Belgium until mid 2002 and was responsible for representing the State of Israel on trade, industrial and technology issues at the EU institutions, as well as, promoting trade relations between Israel and Belgium and Luxembourg.
Upon his return he was appointed to the post of Director of Bilateral Trade Agreements at the Ministry. During his 3 years of term, he was responsible, inter alia, for the negotiations of enlarging the Israel Jordan Trade Agreement , the signing of the Euro Israeli industrial cooperation in the European Galileo space program and launched the Israel Mercosur Free Trade Agreement negotiations.
In December 2005, Boaz was appointed Deputy Director General of Foreign Trade and Director of the Foreign Trade Administration, which is the unit responsible for the consolidation of Israel's foreign trade policy and operates a network of 35 trade representatives operating in 50 countries. This unit has close to 230 employees in Israel and worldwide and an annual budget of over 70 Million NIS. In addition, Boaz serves as the head of the Division of International Activity of the Ministry, thus responsible for the coordination of the activities of 6 other units in the Ministry that deal with aspects of foreign trade.
Boaz is the Chair of the Kimberley Process (aimed at the elimination of "conflict diamonds") for 2010 and is a board member of the Israeli Export and International Cooperation Institute, MATIMOP (the Israeli Industry Centre for R&D) and the Israeli Executive Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises .
He has a BA in Economics from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, a BA in Law from Durham University (UK) and an MA in Law from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.


Nili Shalev – Director of the International Projects and Financing Department, Ministry of Industry Trade and labor.

Ms Shalev joined the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 1995. She has served as Deputy Director of the North American Division in the Ministry’s Foreign Trade Administration; Advisor to the Director General of the Ministry; Director of the Government SEED Fund at the Office of the Chief Scientist providing incentives for prospective investors in Israeli high-tech start-up companies; and between 2004 – 2008  as  Israeli Trade Commissioner in Australia and New Zealand, responsible for promoting trade, investments and bilateral ties.
Between 2008-2010 Ms. Shalev worked in the private sector, as Marketing Director of Miya, an Arison Group company that offers comprehensive water efficiency solutions for municipalities
Nili has an MBA as well as an MA in Communications and a BA in International Relations (cum laude), all from Jerusalem ’s Hebrew University. She is also a graduate of the Ministry's Commercial Attaches Course. She is married to Chemi Shalev and has two children.


Uzi Landau, Ph.D. – Minister of National Infrastructures; Former Minster of Public Security, State of Israel.

Dr. Landau held central positions as a member of the Israeli Knesset and Government from 1984. Amongst his many political roles he served as a member of the Security Cabinet during the peak of the war on terror, a Minister in the Prime Minister's Office responsible for overseeing Israeli intelligence, secret services, and the US – Israel strategic dialogue, and as Chairman of the Foreign Relations and Defense Committee of the Knesset.
Additionally, he served as Chairman and member of several defense, economic and government oversight committees of the Knesset. Prior to his political career, he served in Israel as an engineer at RAFAEL – Armament Development Authority, a lecturer at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and as Director General of the Ministry of Transport. Dr. Landau received his Ph.D. in 1976 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and both his M.Sc. and B.Sc. at the Technion in Haifa. He was born in Haifa and is the father of three. He resides in Ra'anana with his wife, Neomi.


Shraga Brosh – Chairman, Federation of Israeli Economic Organizations & President, Manufacturers Association Israel.

Mr. Shraga Brosh is the Chairman of the Federation of Israeli Economic Organizations and the President of the Manufacturers’ Association of Israel since January 2005. Mr. Brosh is also the Chief Executive Officer of J. Brosh Industries.
He has held several senior level positions in private and public entities. He was the Chief Executive Officer of J. Brosh Marketing & Services. Among the public positions he has held are the Chairman of Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, Chairman of the MAI Executive Committee and Chairman of Metal and Electricity Division, Manufacturers’ Association of Israel.
Mr. Brosh was also the Deputy Mayor of Ramat Gan and he served as the Chairman of Young Generation Forum – Manufacturers’ Association of Israel.
Mr. Brosh is on the board of Governor of Technion, Israel Institute of Technology and he also serves as the Honorary Consul of Turkey. He is the Co-Chairman of Israel - Britain Business Council in Israel.

Dan Catarivas – Director, Division of Foreign Trade & International Relations Manufacturers' Association of Israel

Mr. Dan Catarivas presently holds the position of Director of the Division of Foreign Trade and International Relations at the Manufacturers' Association of Israel (MAI). The MAI is an organization that unites all private industry in Israel, and which represents all industry's interests at both micro and macro levels. In his capacity he deals with various aspects of industrial and foreign trade policy area.
Prior, to this position he served for twenty five years with the Israeli Government, his last position was Deputy Director General for International Affairs at the Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Catarivas served abroad as a first Economic Counselor of Israel in Beijing, China, and between 1982-1984 served as a representative of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour in the Israeli Liaison Office in Beirut, Lebanon.
Mr. Catarivas graduated from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science. He holds MSc degree in Economics from London School of Economics in the field of European Economic Integration and Diploma from College D'Europe in Bruges, Belgium, in the field of Advanced European Studies.


Jane MacPherson – Head of EIB Regional Office for the Near East, European Investment Bank

Ms. MacPherson Joined the European Investment Bank after international banking in the city of London at NatWest Bank.  From 1983-1990 she worked on EIB lending in Spain, first under the Pre-Accession Mandate and then as a Member State.  In 1990, she moved to the Mediterranean Department to take over responsibility for the Bank’s operations in Egypt and between 1993 and 1995 was METAP Coordinator – an environmental technical assistance programme covering all Mediterranean countries managed jointly with the World Bank.  In 1995, she was responsible for EIB lending in Turkey, starting up operations in that country again after an absence of 15 years.  From 1998 – 2001 she was seconded by the EIB to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and worked as Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the British Embassy in Ankara.  In 2001 she returned to the Bank’s headquarters and was appointed Head of the Near East Division, covering the Bank’s operations in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza-West Bank and Israel.  Since 2008, she is Head of the EIB’s Regional Office for the Near East, based in Cairo, and is now covering EIB activities in the six countries of the region from Egypt, with special focus on regional cooperation and cross-border projects and support for the Middle East Peace Process.


Dr. Golan Benita – Alternate Board Director for Israel, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Kazakhstan and Malta, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Dr. Golan Benita joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in July 2008 as the Alternate Board Director for Israel, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Kazakhstan and Malta.  Prior to joining the EBRD, Dr. Benita worked as an Economist in the Foreign Exchange Activity Department in the Bank of Israel from 2001.  Dr. Benita was responsible for analyzing current and expected developments in the foreign exchange and financial markets, and writing research papers on various subjects related to foreign exchange and capital markets, capital flows and monetary policy.  Dr. Benita has lectured at the Executive MBA program of the City University of New York and at the MBA program of the Hebrew University and the Bar-Ilan University. Prior to joining the Bank of Israel he was Head of Human Resources Enlistment Department at Gilad Co.  Dr. Benita holds a Ph.D in finance, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Cum Laude and a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences, Cum Laude from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.


Carlos Roa – Senior Advisor to the Deputy General Manager Inter-American Investment Corporation

Mr. Carlos Roa, a Mexican citizen residing in Washington, D.C., is the Senior Advisor to the Deputy General Manager of the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC). He joined the IIC in 1991 and has occupied several positions in the organization throughout his professional career. As Financial Institutions and Structured Finance Coordinator Mr. Roa was responsible for originating, structuring, and submitting for approval projects with financial institutions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean; as Senior Investment Officer of the Special Operations Unit he was responsible for restructuring troubled projects; and as Regional Officer for Central America, based in Costa Rica, he managed the project portfolio and business development activities from Mexico through Panama. Prior to joining the IIC, Mr. Roa was a financial advisor in Mexico, where he assisted Mexican and international companies with corporate finance activities. Mr. Roa received his Public Accountant degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and has advanced studies in systems and planning.


Dr. Ohad Bar-Efrat – Head of Information and International Affairs Division, Bank of Israel

Dr. Ohad Bar-Efrat is currently the Head of Information and International Affairs Division at the Bank of Israel.  Between 2002 and 2005 he served as the Alternate Director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on behalf of Israel.
Ohad received his Ph.D. in economics from Duke University, in North Carolina.


 


Nurith Kedem – Head of International Finance in Bank Leumi le- Israel B.M.

Prior to her present position, Mrs. Kedem held several positions in the Corporate and International divisions of Leumi, as well as in Leumi's Tel-Aviv Principal Branch.
Mrs Kedem holds MA and BA degrees in English Literature from the Tel- Aviv University and MA in Translation Studies from the Bar – Ilan University. She is also a certified translator from English into Hebrew.


 


Alan Baker – Ambassador (ret), Attorney at Law

For over thirty five years, Alan Baker has held several central posts within the Israel Government service. Since 1996 he served as Legal Counsel and Deputy Director-General in Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In this and previous capacities he has been actively involved in the Middle-East peace negotiations with all Israel's neighbors. He participated in the negotiation and drafting of the Peace Treaties and other agreements with Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and the Palestinians.
Throughout his professional career, Ambassador Baker has represented Israel in international conferences and negotiations in various fields of international law. He served as Israel's representative to the Legal Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, to the preparatory committees and conferences involved in the establishment of the International Criminal Court and to numerous bodies involved in all fields of international law. He has written several articles on such matters.
Between 1985-9 he was seconded by the Government of Israel to the United Nations in New York where he served as a senior legal adviser to the UN.  Between 2004 -8 Ambassador Baker served as Israel’s ambassador to Canada, where he was active in enhancing the commercial relations between the two countries. In this context he re-established the Canada-Israel Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in achieving several bilateral agreements in fields such as homeland security, agriculture, industry and commerce.
Ambassador Baker studied law at University College London, United Kingdom, and has a Masters Degree in International Law from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is married and has three sons. He is also a musician.  Alan Baker retired from government service in February 2009 and is presently a partner in the Tel Aviv law firm of Moshe, Bloomfield, Kobo, Baker & Co. as well as serving as president of the Israel-Canada Chamber of Commerce.


Anna Moshe – Attorney at Law

Adv. Anna Moshe focuses her practice on commercial law, corporate financing, internet law, international mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property. She gained extensive experience in counseling, accompanying and representing a variety of smaller and multi-national companies and in accompanying them throughout their life cycle. She has worked with a large variety of local to multinational enterprises from a diverse range of business sectors as well as High Tech, Startups, Telecom and Global Services companies in Israel, Korea, Japan, USA and Europe. Anna serves her clients in English, Hebrew and Russian.  She is an expert on transactions in Russia, Ukraine and other CIS countries, including cellular, aeronautics, real estate, technology and other fields.
Prior to establishing MBKB & Co. with Harry J.F. Bloomfield, Alan Baker and Moti Kobo, Anna was a senior associate in the International Department of the prestigious Israeli law firm of Yigal Arnon & Co. In this position Anna was involved as lead counselor in a broad range of commercial transactions both local and international.
From 2004 to 2006, Anna was the Executive Vice President in FavoWeb Ltd. a prominent and successful Israeli Startup providing unique and comprehensive solution for fault management, prediction and prevention. Holding this position Anna was in charge of investor relations, financing, Board of Directors activity and conduct, simultaneously with providing on-going legal counseling to A.L.D. Ltd. (TASE:ALD) - the company's publicly traded mother company.
Previously, for a period of six years Anna worked in the Emblaze Group (LSE: BLZ.L), during which period Emblaze evolved from a small Israeli software company to a global group of technology companies listed on the London Stock Exchange, focusing mainly on IT, software and mobile sectors. At Emblaze, Anna, starting as a legal advisor, moved to creating and heading the Group's legal department, wherein she managed the Group's frequent and numerous contractual engagements, ranging from on-going commercial activity, through regulatory matters and corporate law, to mergers, acquisitions and other business development ventures. In addition Anna initiated and executed internal legal restructuring projects, the most outstanding of which was the Intellectual Property portfolio enhancement project that resulted in strengthening the Group’s IP base, supporting its rapid growth and enhancing the Group's IP bargaining ability. In addition to managing the legal department Anna held the following positions in Emblaze; Vice President, Corporate Secretary and the Group's Compliance Officer, in charge of compliance with the London Stock Exchange listing rules and the interaction with the house broker.
During her time at Emblaze Anna was involved in the successful capital raising of more than $500 million, she participated in all stages of reorganizing the rapidly growing Group, including in establishing subsidiaries and ventures worldwide and managing the Group's tax structuring.

Zeev Fisher – Founder and Vice-President for International Business Development, Mapal Green Energy Limited

Mr. Fisher has more then twenty years of experience in marketing and managing the development of environmentally friendly water and wastewater treatment and renewable energy projects within Israel and internationally for some of Israel’s largest infrastructure companies (i.e. Dania Cebus, Shikun Binui, Granit Hacarmel, GES, Amiad, Mashav, Elco, etc.). Avishai Silvershatz – Managing Partner of the Infinity Group/Infinity I-China

Mr. Avishai Silvershatz is a seasoned international private equity/venture capitalist with extensive and successful entrepreneurial and operational experience. He has a strong track record in identifying, leading and building growth companies and securing significant returns for investors.
In the last few years, Mr. Silvershatz has played a major role in a large number of companies, in the telecommunications, Softrware and Industrial Equipment fields, many of which had successful exits, including Native Networks, acquired by Alcatel (2005); Maayan Ventures - IPO TASE:MAYN (2005); ProActivity, acquired by EMC (2006); CogniTens, acquired by Hexagon (2007), Orsus –, acquired by NICE (2010) and Tegrity, acquired by McGraw Hill (2010).
Mr. Silvershatz is a managing partner of the Infinity Group, the leading Chinese-Israeli fund, managing more than US$700 million through nine funds, seven in China. Infinity I China, the world leader in Chinese international RMB funds and Infinity’s second China-Israel fund, is backed by Clal Industries and Investments Ltd. from the IDB Group, China Development Bank and CSVC, as well as by the governments of Israel and China. Ilan Maor – MBA, Managing Director (Israel) of SHENG-BDO Ziv Haft

As the head of SHENG-BDO Ziv Haft's Office in Israel, Ilan Maor holds MBA from the Thames Valley University and B.A. with honor from the Tel Aviv University. Before joining SHENG-BDO Ziv Haft, Ilan headed the Economic Department responsible for Asia, Pacific and CIS region, at the Israeli Foreign Ministry, and was also the Head of the Israeli Negotiating team with the OECD. Between the years 2001-5 Ilan Maor served as the Consul General of Israel in Shanghai. In September 2004, Ilan was the first (and only) Israeli diplomat to be listed among the “100 Most Influential People in Israel Economy” list, published by the leading economic magazine “The Marker". In July 2009 Ilan Maor was elected as the Vice President of the Israel – Asia Chamber of Commerce.


Adv. Yoav Sade – Partner and the head of the commercial and international department of "Landa-Sade", Law Offices.

Adv. Yoav Sade has gained a unique experience in the PRC market for over 20 years, during which he worked for several years in one of the leading PRC law firms in Hong Kong, served as the head of the legal department of the Eisenberg Group of Companies (UDI) and was involved in numerous transactions and projects in the PRC in diversified areas.  Adv. Yoav Sade serves today as the Vice-Chairman of the Israel-China-Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce and frequently lectures in various forums on the negotiation of business transactions and the legal aspects of doing business in the PRC.  Yoav Sade deals mainly in the following areas: International projects and transactions; International trade; Corporate Law; Mergers and Acquisitions; Investments; Commercial and Business Law; High-Tech, Computer Law, Internet, Technology and Intellectual Property; China and Far-Eastern related business and transactions.



Kfir Luzzatto, Ph.D.

Dr. Kfir Luzzatto was born and educated in Italy. After serving in the Israeli Army he acquired his technical education in Israel, where he received a Ph.D. in chemical engineering. He received a number of academic awards, including the Landau Award for Research.
Kfir Luzzatto has taught university courses on "Patents and Technology", and is the author of numerous technical, scientific and professional articles, including an educational series of articles in the Hebrew press. He is a member of FICPI, AIPPI, INTA and AIPA.


Ambassador Zhao Jun – Ambassador to Israel of the People's Republic of China

Mr Zhao Jun - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Israel since 2006. Prior to this role he served as Director-General of the Department of European Affairs of China's Foreign Ministry between 2004-2006; Director-General of the Department of West European Affairs of China's Foreign Ministry between 2001-2004; Between 1996-2001 he served as Counselor, Minister Counselor and Minister of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Prior roles in the China Ministry of foreign affairs are First Secretary, Deputy Director and Director of the Department of West European Affairs of China's Foreign Ministry; Third Secretary and Second Secretary of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Malta; Attaché and Third Secretary of the Department of West European Affairs of China's Foreign Ministry; and Staff Member of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Malta.  Mr. Zhao Jun was born in 1954 in Hebei Province of China. He is married and has one son, and holds a Bachelor Degree.


Gustavo Kronenberg, President & CEO of TAHAL Group

Mr. Kronenberg has since 2007 headed TAHAL, a leading international engineering company specializing in water and environmental engineering, first established in 1952 by the State of Israel, privatized in 1996, and currently headquartered in both Tel Aviv and Amsterdam.
Mr. Kronenberg served previously (1994-2007) as General Manager of VID, a consortium of Veolia Environment and IDE, owner of the Ashkelon desalination plant, as well as General Manager of H2ID, a consortium of IDE and H&C, owner of the Hadera desalination plant – these companies financing, constructing and operating seawater desalination plants in Israel, representing the largest reverse osmosis installations in the world. Earlier (1987-1994), he was Vice-President in charge of Business Development, and Marketing Manager and Desalination Plants Product Manager at IDE.
Mr. Kronenberg is a qualified mechanical engineer from Tel Aviv University and has studied financial management for ICL Managers at Ben Gurion University of the Negev.


Dafna Rolls - Principal.

Dafna Rolls is an expert in hands-on business development with over 12 years experience in sales, sales management and training, marketing, and lead generation. Her entrepreneurial approach has been instrumental in helping to build and grow numerous small businesses in multiple industries.
Dafna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business administration from Northeastern University and a Practical Engineering degree in Engineering and Architecture from Tel-Aviv University in Israel. She also served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces, holding the rank of Lieutenant and Communication Systems Officer.

Alex Averbuch – Marketing Manager

Mr. Alex Averbuch holds Marketing Manager Position with ASHRA -The Israel Export Insurance Corp. Ltd. ASHRA, fully owned by the Israeli Government, encourages Israeli exports by insuring medium and long term export credit transactions and investments abroad.
Mr. Averbuch served in ASHRA as Financial Analyst and Head of Governmental Guarantees Department, Export Insurance Department Underwriter and Marketing Manager.
Mr. Averbuch is deeply involved into various export and trade finance activities and participate business forums, seminars and events for promoting International Cooperation and Israeli Export abroad. He supports economical and cultural relations development between Israel and CIS Countries, and took an active part at creation of the Parliament Lobby for “Promoting Israel – CIS Economic and Trade relations”, headed by Mr. Robert Ilatov, Israeli Parliament Member.
Mr. Averbuch was in charge of “National Agent Project” for promoting Israeli Exports to The Republic of China via Chinese trading companies.
Mr. Alex Averbuch involved into cooperation with local and foreign financial institutions, as well as Foreign Embassies in Israel and Economic Missions overseas.
